Plotlands

Plotlands is a space I’m cultivating, an evolving work in progress.

A place to collect my projects, thoughts and explorations in their various states. Realised or unrealised, from the built to the dismantled or repurposed.

The name is drawn from the early 20th century British grassroots movement. Ordinary people bought small plots of land, often on the fringes and edges, building homes, communities and escapes by hand.

With a DIY vernacular, homes were made from salvaged leftovers, bringing a reflective understanding to value and worth. These were places of self-reliance, and quiet resistance, embodying alternatives and possibilities.

Plotlands aspires to honour that instinct, to build something small, defiant and meaningful, on the peripheries.
